Okay, this felt like progress. I decided to go down there. It wasn’t a fancy place, more industrial. Had to fill out some paperwork, basically agreeing to bring the tank back safely. Paid the rental fee and the deposit – the deposit was hefty, but fully refundable, so fair enough.
They wheeled out the tank. It wasn’t huge, but definitely bigger and heavier than those little red ones you see in party stores. Managed to get it into my trunk. Felt like I’d actually accomplished something!
Got home, hooked up the nozzle they gave me (that was extra, gotta remember that), and started filling balloons. It worked like a charm. We filled way more balloons than I could have ever gotten from those disposable things. The party was a hit, balloons everywhere.
Taking it back was easy. Just drove it back, they checked it over, and I got my deposit back right away. Honestly, it was a bit more running around than just clicking “buy now” online, but the savings were real. Forget those disposable tanks if you need a decent amount of helium. Finding a local rental place, even if it’s a welding supplier, was the real “helium tank cheap” solution for me. A bit of hassle, but saved a good chunk of cash.
