Okay, so the other day, I needed a balloon. Just one, for a little project I was working on. Sounds simple, right? You’d think! I quickly realized I had no clue where to actually buy a single balloon. I mean, I could picture them in my head, all shiny and colorful, but where do they actually live?

My Balloon Hunt Begins
First, I thought about the grocery store. They have, like, everything, right? So, I went down the party aisle, all hopeful. I saw tons of party hats, streamers, and those little plastic noisemakers… but no balloons. Strike one.
Next, I remembered those dollar stores. They always have random stuff. I drove over to the closest one and wandered around. I found some seasonal decorations and some cheap toys, but still, no balloons! Feeling a little silly at this point.
Getting Creative (and Desperate)
Then, I figured, “Okay, maybe a party supply store?” I don’t even know if those are a thing anymore! I pulled out my phone and did a quick search. Turns out, there are still party supply stores! But the closest one was, like, 20 minutes away. Ugh.
- Grocery store – Nope.
- Dollar store – Still nope.
- Party supply store – Too far!
The “Aha!” Moment
Finally, sitting in my car, feeling defeated, it hit me. A pharmacy. I checked some local ones and found one with them. So I quickly went there.
There was my balloon! I grabbed it, paid the cashier (who probably thought I was crazy buying just one balloon), and headed home.

So, lesson learned: Finding a single balloon can be a surprisingly mini-adventure. If you ever needed it, some pharmacies got them. Who knew?
